Questions & Answers

  • Dressy casual / Semi-formal — Please wear something you feel comfortable and can dance in, that’s most important to us!

Please note, there is a gorgeous indoor space, but the venue is indoor/outdoor with dancing outside. For this reason, you may choose to wear flats/wedges/chunky heels over regular heels. Due to the red dirt, lighter colors may get a little dirty.

You may want to bring layers, as it can get cold at night.

  • May is considered peak season in Moab and we’ll be a couple days outside of that. Likely it will be in the mid/high-80s during the day and 50s at night, so bring layers! We’re crossing our fingers for some beautiful weather.

Please apply sunscreen and if needed bring a hat or sunglasses for the ceremony. Due to the dry heat, please drink lots of water! Hydration is really important.

We learned from the venue it’s best to check the weather for Canyonlands Regional Airport, as it’s closer to the venue and tends to be slightly cooler than downtown Moab.

  • The ceremony will be immediately outside a gorgeous glass building with doors that open out to the scenic red rocks (Website: Red Earth Venue). Assuming it’s nice out, the doors will be open.

There is a cooling system in the building and a private modern bathroom.

  • We are offering shuttles from the Gonzo Inn, located in downtown Moab, to Red Earth Venue (12 min drive).

Shuttles will depart at 3:45pm MT from the Gonzo Inn - 100 W 200 S, Moab, UT 84532

There will be two shuttle options back to the Gonzo Inn, one departing at 9:30pm MT & another at the end of the night, 11:00pm MT.

We highly recommend taking the shuttle if you plan to imbibe. Please note, there is limited parking at the venue.

  • Nope! Your presence is gift enough, we know it’s a trek to get out to Moab and we’re just excited you’re celebrating with us!!

  • Being in the desert, it’s important to be prepared, especially if you’re planning on hiking:

    • Pack layers - it will likely be warm in the day and cool at night

    • Reusable water bottle - due to the dry climate, staying hydrated is VERY important

    • Sunscreen

    • Sun hat

    • Sunglasses

    • Comfortable shoes

    • Swimsuit if where you’re staying has a pool

    • Annual Parks Pass - this is a great area to use it!

    • Camera - it’s so beautiful out here, it’s worth packing a nice camera if you have one!

  • While there are buses, rideshares, and adventure companies + downtown Moab is walkable, there are so many amazing things to explore in the area that a car is worth it. If you are interested in exploring any scenic off-roading drives, please consider getting a high clearance AWD/4WD vehicle.

  • It depends on what you’d like to do! Arches National Park is 5-10 minutes from Moab and does require what they call “timed entry” between 7am and 4pm MT daily (before/after you do not need a timed pass). This costs $2 and you can book in advanced. To book, visit:

    https://www.recreation.gov/timed-entry/10088426

Once you have your timed entry pass, you can enter the park within an hour of the time you selected. At the gate, each vehicle will need the QR code from the timed entry pass and a parks pass (Annual entry to all US parks- $79 or Arches day pass - $30, which you can buy at the gate).

Canyonlands National Park is about 35 minutes from Moab and does not require timed entry (but does require a parks pass). However, due to this the entry gate can get very backed up. Consider going early/late OR if you have a high clearance AWD/4WD vehicle, you can go on the Potash Road from Moab to Shafer trail without going through the park gate (if you go this route, you don’t need a parks pass).

UTV, Boat, Adventure Tours are available all over Moab but likely best to book in advance - we mainly explored on our own, but will try to coordinate some group events if we can make it happen!

  • Pending weather, we are planning to drive the Shafer Trail on Saturday 6/1 around 10am - if you’re interested in coming along, please send us a message!
